What can be done about this?

A very good friend of mine is being called some very nasty names on this site by a couple of insane people.
They have it in for another user on this site also.
How would she go about getting these stupid idiots banned permenantly?
They've been bullying loads of people on here resulting in the bullied users leaving permenantly.

Babe, I think you are in the UK, if so, call directory enquiries, ask for Yahoo London, when you call them ask for the abuse investigation team. they will give you a priority abuse email address and ask you to (in addition to reporting) email the URLs of the abusive questions or answers to them so that they can take appropriate action - anything from removing the offensive post to account suspension depending on the severity/ frequency of the abuse.

im not sure at the moment where the law stands however i know there is going to be a huge crackdown on internet bullying

perhaps look up the laws and what exactly are in effect at the moment and then send a copy of these laws in an email to the regulators of the site explaining the situation and whats wrong. attatch a copy of the new laws and then hopefully you should see some action..

there is a lot of name calling on this site

there are groups that tend to stick together and support each other (for good or ill)

report any inappropriate posts

however, some people ask provocative questions, post provocative and insulting answers and then cry for help when people retaliate

usually there is some way on the site you can report these nasties usually by a button at the end of a comment, or your friend could do it right back and see how they like it.

Use the "report it" button on each of the nasty posts after a certain number of reports the user is banned.

When someone is nasty to you, report them. This doesn't work too well so when I find someone offensive, I block them. Works for me!

Tell them to Keep their chins up and, when they recieve nasty comments report them to Yahoo.

contact the service provider of that site and give them the heads up... If that doesn't work, then encourage people to just ignore them...
