My mouse began to act strangely. When on a web page, when the left mouse button is clicked, the scroll symbol comes up and works likes the scroll wheel.

Other times, the left mouse click may bring up options usually on the right click menu, and the right click is disabled.

This is very strange.

Also, clicking the scroll wheel will bring up the right-click menu.

my mouse used to do that. i uninstalled my mouse then reinstalled it. maybe somehow, you setting have changed. go to countrol panel and then select mouse options, go in there and see if they are set correctly. is the mouse clean. does it have a ball, (clean out rollers) or is it a laser or optical.
Maybe it is time to buy a new one.

First, see if you reversed the action of the mouse buttons:
Open Mouse in the Control Panel
on the Buttons tab, is there a checkmark in “switch primary and secondary buttons”

Before you buy a new mouse I suggest you contact the manufacturer. They may have a suggestion for you.

ok, this is going to sound relatively stupid, yet you would be surprised how many human beings do no longer even think of of it. Is it a on the spot mouse? And no remember if that's have you ever tried changing the batteries? If not one of the above is the subject, the gadget's driving force might have corrupted (although i'm undecided how that works on a Mac). attempt deleting the applying and reinstalling it. in any different case nicely perhaps it relatively is merely demise.

Time to buy a new one. The mouse ball must have broken. Your mouse is just dirty. Cleaning it helps but i would buy a new because why go thorugh all the trouble
