Mine are. Many times they can tell something is wrong with me before those ones that are around me. They are a valuable part of my life. They make me laugh, lift my spirits, and always have words of encouragement. I am grateful for each one.

Yes. Online friends are just as valuable as RL friends. A friend is a friend regardless of how/where you meet them. RL or Online doesn't define or decide if someone can be a friend. I've met a few people online, infact, my best friend I met online and hopefully in the future it will be more, but for now just friends. She's a wonderful person. Pretty much, honestly, my best friends are the few I've met online.

My online friends are at least as important as my friends in real life. Some of you are more important than my real life friends. Not that I don't have good real life friends, or a life, but they are often too busy to 'be there'. I can always come here and find a few friends, at least.
I rarely ask questions, but when I do, almost all of my friends took the time to answer. That means a lot! Hugs to all!

I think some of my online friends are just as valuable than some of my "real life" friends....if not more so.

Of course! Every friend fulfills their own purpose in your life, as do you in theirs. Online friends may be limited on what they can do on occasion, but they are just as valuable as real life friends! :)

Sometimes my real life friend is such a DEBBIE DOWNER that I come on here to feel uplifted again. So, you, ginny, are a very valuable friend that I found online. You are uplighting you are spirited and you are such a brat sometimes. JK lol

They can be, if the online friend is someone who I have known for sometime. I have online friends that know more about me than most of my in-person friends do.

Friends, in real life or in the virtual world, are only as valuable as what they contribute.

Yes, of course. I think that every friend that you have each fulfills a different purpose. Like, one friend could be for talking to, the other confiding in. Each friend has a different need that they fulfill for you. I think online friends are special because they fulfill a special need in you. Like, every friend has something special, and that is why you call them friends.
