Good for U Joe.....watch the Presidential stuff going on...watch the news...Fox and Cnn...draw your own conclusions, talk with your parents and friends about the Presidential hopefuls and then when you have done your research on them voice your opinions. Adults would be surprised how intelligent you are in your convictions and desires when you cant vote. You can spread the word about your research which will help your age level, to talk to their parents about their voting and the candidates chosen. So many people just dont give a dam about this, and it is not helping the USA when we have a LameDuck as President. (someone that really isnt doing his full job) So many people get into politics for a personal agenda, and not for the whole on an even keel. ALL of US need to be treated equally and for the biggest part that isnt happening. The middle class is becoming the poor class. Remembering the middle class is the working class, or white collar workers, not high earning CEO's or Oil Tycoons.....we work for them and they reap the hugest rewards. Do the work and spread the word. Stay in school, and work towards running this country someday.

Hey, Joe--I applaud you for being interested in your country. I agree with people who told you to vote, but there's no reason you can't be involved right now. I worked for my first presidential candidate when I was your age. I knocked on doors, handed out literature, made phone calls, worked on data. You are surely smart enough to do these things and get started in political involvement. It can be a local candidate or issue or a national candidate or issue.

Do research and find something or someone you believe in, call their office and ask what you can do.

Another idea: many young people have started their own groups to accomplish various goals. I saw a report just this morning on a 13-year-old young man who had started a group of friends in New Orleans where he lives to help restore this large park they have there because no one else was doing it. They go out every week and mow the grass and do cleanup and so forth, and now a lot of other families can use that park.

Good luck to you!

I'm 14 as well, and It's the same thing here in Australia, we're screwing up, and we need to change it. We're the ones that need to help the most. It's our futures on the line. If we don't do something to help we're gunna be the people to feel it most, us and our children.
So try getting together some friends and starting a campaign. It also depends on where you think its going wrong. If you think its in the state of global warming, then get a group together and think of ways to reduce the amount you pollute. This will get other people involved as well, and then there will be a chain reaction. It all helps in its own way. Just get people involved, friends, family and just try sacrificing some things. Like you can help reduce global warming just by having one less serve of meat. It's not that hard.

And if you think the problem is something different, search up ways to stop it on the net.

If it's in the government, then when your old enough to vote, change it to what you think will help, convince people everything is screwed up, get them involved get them to listen to what your saying.

Do you really believe that America is taking a turn for the worst or do you listen to and rely on the alphabet channels and the drivel they report? The mainstream news media very rarely reports good news, take the war in Iraq for instance, where did you read in the mainstream press that that war is going extremely well and we are winning? You won't find that many places, or if it is reported it is buried some place in another section of the newspaper. The democrats have set them selves up so America has to lose the war in Iraq for them to look good. President Bush may not be loved by everybody but you have to admire the man for the fact that when he says something he sticks to it and doesn't take opinion polls to see which way the wind is blowing.

"Taking a turn for the worse" is a broad explanation of what is going in our country today. You must define this to yourself and then everyone else. Get the facts, understand the entire process, and then judge. With the right tools at hand, you can do your part to fix what ails you and this country. If you support our Constitution, think its worth fighting for, then go for it. Example: the right to bear arms, is this worth fighting for? Immigration control, what is it and how should it be enforced? Abortion, is that a personal decision or something I should on? Marriage, is that for everyone or between a man and a woman? Welfare, how much, for whom, and who pays for it? Define the issues that are making the country take a turn for the worse.

good luck

Your best contribution to society, America and future generations is to participate in what used to be the normal path to adulthood: eventually get and stay married, be faithful to your wife, have children within the marriage, and raise them to hold your traditional values and be productive citizens.

Very good question...
There are always cycles....unemployment, the value of the dollar, the stock market. It is a time to pay attention and when you get to voting age support the person that reflects your views. Stay interested your country needs you..

Consider a career in public service, or be a writer and help elevate the level of public discourse.

Change isn't always big and splashy...but if you commit to being a part of the solution instead of the problem, you're doing your share or more.

Hey Joe, just the fact that you are asking the question means you are on the right track! Good man, get involved with local civic groups. Start making a name for yourself by volunteering in your local area. Let people know who you are.

Get good grades, so that you may be productive in the future. That is your job, at this age.

You are misled by the left wing media. They only want to take down this country. So the bias is against publishing news of things going right.
