Have you been having any regular contractions that are getting longer, stronger and closer together - a sign of a progressing labour? Women having second or subsequent babies can go around for weeks at 4-5 cms dilation without being in labour. It can then go fast or less fast, it depends on many things. A posterior cervix still has some work to do. As you are not yet 40 weeks, there would be no reason (from your question) to induce labour. It is not necessary to induce you at this gestation unless you or your baby are showing signs of stress - e.g. pre eclampsia, non reassuring heart beat etc. Just because your cervix is dilating, there's no reason to intervene - this is normal.
Try to relax and let baby choose when he/she wants to come. The risks of intervening in the natural process are too high when everything is going well. Good luck.

You could go into labor anytime now and will probably have your baby within the next 2 days.

It will be today, if your water breaks.

Or, it will be tomorrow--don't eat for at least 8 hours before your appointment--the doctor will be more inclined to induce.

Congratulations!!!

You could deliver at any time. You are close. If you have already had children it will be quicker than if this is your first child.
