I don't normally star a question unless I really like it or they ask for it. It used to give the person more points I don't know if it does anymore.

sometimes i just star; no answer (i'm just lazy to answer the really deep question OR it says guys only OR i think one of my contacts might want to answer it)
answer then star; NEVER before.
oh and i don't care about the points. i never answer a question just for points.
