Pro-wrestling is indeed a sport. In order to be a pro-wrestler it does take some athletic ability and a lot of time devoted to training. Not everybody can do it, both for physical or mental/stress reasons. Some of these guys are really over-worked to the death and it does take it's toll on themselves and their family. Always working out, performing, traveling on the road, interviews.. it all adds up and I do feel for these guys.

While there has been some dishonorable incidents in pro-wrestling the whole industry is not at fault. Some of those pro-wrestlers are really good men and women both in and out of the ring.

It's a shame today that we have many pro-athletes dropping dead under the age of 40 in almost every sport; wrestling, football, basketball, baseball... something is definitely going on.

i agree that very few people have what it takes to handle pro wrestlings demanding lifestyle of training, travelling, and taking a beating. plus the overall athletic ability and strenght it demands. however, when you have a sport where the winner is pre-determined by a writer as opposed to direct competition either one on one or team vs team you will always have people who say it is not a sport.

It is not a sport because pro-wrestling is just a show that is planned out ahead of time. They don't get a chance to win on their own. It's all decided in advance.

It's not a sport. There's nothing sporting about an entertainment vehicle that is scripted. This does not mean the participants cannot be excellent athletes. It does not mean that you can't be a fan of it. Just please stop insisting that it is a sport.
