there are no quick fixes for leaking water pumps, when they go ,their gone ,there,s no additives that will stop them from leaking,if its that bad id ave it towed in ,that would be a lot better than taking a chance on getting it hot,i wouldn't add anything to the radiator to try and stop the leak though,it will only clog up your heater core and cause you more problems with it,good luck on it.

Try Barr's leaks. When the atomic submarine, the Nautilus was about to go under the North pole they found a leak in the nuclear cooling system and the sailors all went into Seattle and bought every can they could find, added that to the cooling system and that sealed it so that they were able to make that trip. You may even find that it will seal it enough that you can put off the trip to the garage for a while, depending upon where it is leaking from and why. Keep your heater running though so that it doesn't clog the heating coils as well. Good Luck!!

take the belt and fan pulley off, there are 2 small holes(weep holes) in the pump, one on top the other on the bottom, put rubber plugs with silicone glue in them, in the holes, then with the radiator cap off run the car to full temp to seal the plugs and glue, but remember this if the pump is leaking , the bearing seal is gone and it is getting water so it won't last very long after it starts leaking (a week, 2 weeks) if it comes apart you will be buying a radiator too, so don't keep running it get it changed. look it up in a repair book not alot to it maybe you can do it yourself, if you have any automotive mechanical skills

If your just trying to get it to the garage just take a lot of water with you and keep filling it but if it is blown you will overheat quick because it will not push any water through the system. Just watch your temp. and stop every few miles if you have to and don't go during rush hour. Its not like a leaky hose there is no fix other than replacement.

Good Luck

You aren't going to be able to "quick fix" it. If you can't get it towed (AAA will do it for free), then load your car up with lots of water. Fill up the radiator, drive for about a mile, stop, put in more water, drive another mile, and repeat.

By doing this, you run the risk of overheating your car. It would be far better to just pay a little extra to have it towed. If you know anyone with a AAA membership, ask them to come over with their card. Call the AAA number and have a tow truck come to pickup your car. As long as the member points to your car and says "take that one to this address", you will be covered. The benefits differ depending on the membership type. If your mechanic is outside the "free milage" for your friends membership, you will have to pay a small fee for the extra milage, but it will be WAY LESS than if you called the tow truck yourself.

Conversely, it will be way way way way way less than paying for a new engine because you ruined the current one with a "quick fix".

Good luck.

Ok, my idea is Take lots of water with you and keep adding water every mile or every 5 minutes, depends on how far the garage is. If the garage is far choose the least congested time of the week/day.
good luck

How far does it have to go? If you only have to get it up your diveway if its pumping any water at all it should be enough to keep it cool for just a second, long enough for you to get it up the drive.

rtv or silicone will give you a fix so that you can get to a garage but not to go cross state.
