have to perform a play tommorow at school and I have too sing at the end (on my own).
We went into groups and then each kid in the group had to write a scene out and as part of my part i have to sing.
I really don't want too, i've talked to the rest of the group but they don't seem too care.
I don't want to go to school tommorow, my confidence is already rock-bottom without having to have the whole class laughing at me.
Im 13 by the way.
HELP!!

If we don't do the play we get D30's (30 minutes detention) and the teacher doesn't care about her students just about her getting her pay cheque each month.
I feel sick and I feel like crying because i don't want to sing.
I'm a rubbish singer, i only got picked because everyone picked their parts and i got the rubbishest part :[
I've talked & talked too everyone but they say 'just do it' but i don't want to, and im not. Teachers can't force you too do something you don't want, right?

Look at it this way, if your Grammar ( in your question) is a sample of your ability, then you have nothing to fear, Just apply the same confidence / ability to your singing , you will be a WOW!

It feels like the whole world is crashing down on your head right now, but you're going to be OK. Everybody else in the play is probably feeling just as nervous as you. If they won't admit it, they're just not as honest as you are. (I've acted in lots and lots of plays, and I have stage fright every single time, but I always survive.)

You might be a better singer than you give yourself credit for. But if you really can't handle the idea of singing in front of an audience, try this: When the time comes for your song, step up bravely (even if you don't feel brave) and tell the audience that you're supposed to sing right now, but you really can't, so you're just going to speak the words to the song. Then say the words with as much feeling as you can muster. Try not to think about yourself or the audience or how jittery you feel. Just think about what the words mean. Do your best to communicate that meaning to everybody who's listening. As I said before, you're going to be OK. Your fear is big, but you are bigger.

If you feel like crying get it all out before the photo shoot(or in your case... play!!)... that's what Tyra Banks has said on America's Next Top Model. Get all the tears out until you can't cry anymore... that's what i did when my dog passed away... i can't cry about it anymore because i've seriously cried ALL that i can. Then, practice singing... i'm SURE you aren't as bad as you say you are!!! Just be confident and know that your the best... think of it this way... you auditioned for a musical on broadway and you got that part!!! instead of saying it's the "rubbish part" be POSITIVE!!! think like YOU got the part that tons of people wanted and YOU are awesome!! ( it sounds cheesy but just go with it!!) Trust me... i know how it feels... i'm about the same age as you and i know what it's like!!!

GOOD LUCK!!

I really feel for you i hate to do things that draw attention to me ie public speaking stuff like that so can understand how nervous its making you feel.Have you tried talking to your mum/dad about it, maybe doing a little rehearsal with them see what they think it may build up your confidence a bit ,if not talk to you parents and explain how upsetting you find it maybe they could have a word with your teacher in the morning and tell her how you feel.I think the very last resort should be taking the day off school yes it may be embarrassing but it may help you overcome your nerves it might not go as badly as you think it will, Good luck however you deal with it.

Just try your best is all I can say. Your teacher can't MAKE you do something, but they CAN give you a bad grade for it. I'm sure your group wouldn't ask you to do it if they didn't think you could! Just think of how good it will be to get it over with and have that sense of acomplishment!

Otherwise just sing in a silly voice and act like that was how your character would do it!

Awww sweetie. My cousin is a famous professional singer & she sometimes gets sick before she has to go on stage & the only thing that helps her is pretending she is on her own with her eyes closed in her room or outside in a field, try it, it might help.
If you don't think your voice is that good, just talk the words, you know like Lilly Allen.
Best of luck, i'm sure you'll be fine.

Tell your friends. I'm sure one of them will change with you. Talk to your teacher. She can't MAKE you do something you can't. If you really feel that bad, maybe it's better to do the 30 min. detention than be soooooo uncomfortable as you seem.

How long will your solo be. Cause if it's a one line or one small verse then just do it-cause it won't be that bad.

Any further questions?? Email me!!]

Break a leg!! and follow your stomach!! (LOL)

have you told your mum and dad how badly this is affecting you,for they may help,if you were my daughter id have been at that school and told them straight that you arent doing it,and no they cannot today make you do anything you dont want to,if the worse comes to the worse take the 30 min detention, its a disgrace to make you sing if your of a shy nature, and dont want making fun of,you stand your ground and tell them they are not making a laughing stock out of you.
