when the mondoshawans are flying to earth, they get attacked by the mangalores, when the mondoshawan ship crashes on a moon, a rescue crew recovers a hand of a mondoshawan survivor. when that hand is brought to earth, it is resuscitated and brought back to life by doctors. but when the hand is brought back to life it looks like a girl "leeloo" and not the robotic alien that it used to look like, why is that?

because leeloo was in all that gear. That is what she was supposed to look like underneath. She was the fifth element, she isnt human, but like a "creator" btw did you notice the screw up in the movie when Bruce willis takes leeloo to the priest, the priest calls him Mr.Willis and Bruce corrects him to say Dallas?

The Fifth Element is an enjoyable movie just like Ace Ventura. I watched that before. Not really a must see but definitely a worth watching movies.

Because the survivor wasn't a mondoshiwan, the survivor was the hand of the fifth element. You see it, briefly, in the beginning when they remove the fifth element from the temple (just inside of what looks like a giant floating briefcase).
Turns out that what was inside the briefcase was a genetically modified human, Leeloo.

It's like why an alien mind reader would speak to us in English - it's because that's what we would understand.

Her dna structure was in the hand. If humans reconstructed dna then the mass will be in their image, human form. Since this is the case then if the mondoshawans had the same type of machine then more than likely it will be in their image. So, she is a human because she was reconstructed by humans.

1 because it was shrouded in some armor suit and you didnt actually see the hand or:
2: Because it is a friggin move with A BUNCH of holes in the plot.

shes was probably wearing a protective suit.. beings that she was the fifth element, they probably had her wearing it for protection in case something like that happened.
