I've already ruined two perfectly good shirts, so I now open them, shirtless, since cleanup is so much easier. The way I open them is how I read it in Wikipedia. You cut off the ends, score it like an orange, peel off the skin and soak the rest in water to remove that white stuff. It seems to take a year to get all the seeds out this way. Plus, that red juice squirts e v e r y w h e r e!!! Do you have a better way?

Lol, Rockman, you're making me laugh. I was told that the seeds are the only edible part of the pomegranate. Ok, maybe you were just kidding. Still funny.

Hi VA Girl!! Good Thanksgiving? Did you post in P&S over Cooking & Recipes because you want pervy advice or something?
Okay, slice it in half, turn half upside down, tap tap tap wack on the concave side over a bowl and the seeds will fall out.
I can't help you with the staining, but I would try foodnetwork.com for a how-to, they have a bunch of pomegranate info and recipes.
Naughty girl.

I just cut them into four pieces, gently roll the seeds out with my fingers and then rinse them off. It's faster, but might not be all that much cleaner... just do it really carefully and you shouldn't get too much juice spraying all over.
