It really depends, on what you would like to do, and can you handle dealing with the public... I worked in a grocery store and really enjoyed it, made good money, but now I cant go shopping without thinking about what I used to do...

you are 16, so find something that would be fun, and make good money,,, but spend time having fun in school.. here are places I would work if I was 16 some you should look into to see if they would hire you when your turn 18

1. Movie theater... get to see friends and movies for free,, these days they are expensive

2. Waitress... get good tips, but deal with the public,,

3. check with local police dept, they might get you started being a dispatcher (you have to be 18, but they might be able to get you into something else)

4. profesional baby sitter,,, you lose weekends. but work when you want to

5. McDonalds, BK, etc... some of these places if you stay long enough they give pay bonuses, and you can transfer to a local place when you go to college... I knew a guy in college that worked for McD's in high school, and when he went to college, he stayed with them,,, they gave him a scholarship free!

6. Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes hardware, etc... same reason as above

7. the mall stores,,, but be careful can get you in trouble with friends... but you might get clothing discounts

8. Take college classes at night and become an certified EMT, and you can get a job with the paramedics or fire departments

9. Check into the offices at the hospitals, or dr. offices... they might be able to help.. I had a friend who worked for a hospital as a nurse (with 2 yrs of college) they paid her way to go to college and became a RN,, as long as she worked for them for 2 years after college,, then she became a pediatric nurse,, and they paid for that

As for right now, do something for a few years,,, while you are in HS see if a local college offers classes for HS students... take the pharmacy tech classes,, (not pharmacist,, that is full time college)... when you finish the class you can be a pharmacy tech and make good money

good luck

Grocery stores are flexible with hours. Retail places are good and always looking to hire. Fast food restaurants.

The real question is what are you able to do? Do you ahve your own car to get to work, or are you dependent on your parents to take you? It may not be a question of where you should work, but where you can.

Just make sure you stick with whatever job you choose.
