Tylenol Cold and Flu is okay. But nothing else. Also cough drops are safe for itchy throat etc.

FIRST and ALWAYS ask your doctor...my mother miscarried after 12 weeks and to this day (30-some odd years later) she blames it on the nyquil she took because she was suffering from a severe cold...obviously she needed to blame something so she continues to do that...however, i was suffering from crazy headaches and took tylenol nearly everyday for the first trimester (with the doctor's knowledge) and i and my daughter are fine...so far :) anyway, cold and flu medicines don't really 'cure' you so if you're seeking comfort for cold/flu symptoms, just do chicken soup (really!) with lots of garlic, humidify your bedroom, take vitamin c, and drink lots of decaf tea...

This is the list of medications my OB/GYN said are safe to take during pregnancy (as long as you follow the recommended dosage on the label)... For headaches/aches/pains you can take regular or extra strength Tylenol. For cold (not accompanied with fever) you can take Sudafed or Actifed for congestion. Robitussin DM for coughs. Halls Cough Drops for dry, scratchy throat. For upset stomach you can try Tums, Rolaids, Mylanta, Riopan, Pepcid OTC and Zantac OTC. Hope this helps.

My doctor told me that Sudafed was ok but to make sure that I took the children's kind. I took Children's Sudafed for Colds and it helped. I just made sure I took half the amount (I think it was 2 teaspoons). It helped me but I would ask to make sure.

call your doctor to be sure, but usually Tylenol based products are the only thing you can use when pregnant.
