Definitely the memories that remain and can be revisited time and time again later on. I am a very reflective sort of person, so I guess that maybe that's why I see things this way...

Nothing beats the real thing!!!!!(If it is a good thing) And should the experience happen only once, with your imagination and the memories you can relive the love, laughter and joy you have shared. It is all in your keeping. You can keep your memories alive.
If it is a bad experience, you must deal with it and then let it go. To dwell on it and relive it daily, will drive you completely insane.

Experience is king. A memory can never achieve the same power of actual sensations. Try remembering your first kiss. Was that as exciting as the actualy first kiss? Probably not.

The actual experience...memories are too painful for me. They haunt me in my dreams and I wish for it to happen again but it can't. He no longer remains.

I don't think I can determine which is more enjoyable. They are equally enjoyable to me but in different ways.
However, there are things that happen that really suck when they are happening. They are not enjoyable at all. But my memories of them are enjoyable. Like the time I tripped over an open kitchen drawer and flew out of the kitchen and fractured my shin. I did not enjoy that one bit, but I enjoy laughing about it now. :)

sometimes, you don't appreciate the experience when you're living it.. but once it's over you realize how nice it was...
