Stylists and snappy dressers - I need your help! I am going with my fiance to his Christmas work do in a couple of weeks' time and I will be wearing a red evening dress. He will probably wear a tuxedo or black suit and we thought it would be nice and different if something he wore picked out the red of my dress. Would it be better for him to wear a red shirt with a black tie, black shirt with a red tie, white shirt with red tie or should we just forget the red and go for a white shirt and black tie? Any ideas would be great.

Definitely the black shirt with the red tie!! Thats usually a great twist on the usual-- you may even want to get some coordinating cufflinks!!!Have fun!!

The whole point of black tie (which includes Tuxedo) is for the men to dress the same, so the women shine. Going as a matching couple will defeat the object of letting you have your moment. That said he could wear a red bow tie, or red cumberbund, but only one of the two. His DJ should be single breasted, with a marcellus (golf-ball) shirt. Wing collars are optional, but personally I think their b****y awful.

If its a suit then black shirt and red tie. But i don't think that would work for a tux, so just keep it black and white with a tux. And a definite no to the red shirt- that would look awful!

The Tie - Whit shirt though, I don't like the look of black and red with a suit. Ot just forget the red. The most striking colours to wear are red black and whit!

Depends on what he likes. I like the red shirt with the black tie or vice versa or just regular and he could put a red rose on his jacket. Actually, With the tux it has the cumberbun and tail, so he can do red cumberbun with black bow tie and a red rose too.

white shirt red tie but the only problem is that u have to find the exact shade of red other wise it will look very tacky

I wore red and my other half wore white shirt red dickie bow and red cumerbund red hankie in breast pocket.Or just go for black tie that would be ok too.
