I find it disturbing that they call it "Xmas" or "The Holidays".
In a recent ad for Lowe's they called their Christmas trees that they had on sale "family trees".
A funny side note is that the origin of the word "holiday" is holy day....still a religious meaning.

I think most people are truly ridiculous. They need to get over it. Society has become so easily offended when the wind blows in the wrong direction. What happened to the majority voice is heard! One person gripes about something and we can no longer do it or say it. If they want that kind of sheltered secluded life then they should stay home and leave us alone!
Merry Christmas to all...no matter who you like, love, worship, beleive in, kiss, hug, etc!

Christ is not part of Christmas if one knows the real story. Christmas is a pagan story brought over. Those that follow the bible know this and also know its wrong to bring over others traditions. Removing Christ from a non G_D holiday is proper to do.

Re-read the story of Moses getting the tablets. Read up on what happened to those that waited and what they had done. Christmas is the same thing.

That was 2000 years ago written by a story teller and the man wrote a big book about it. Were you there? Do you know this really happened? What about all the other religions in the world that believe their god is the only god. Get over it, Christ is not the single most important religious figure in America. We are a nation of freedom of religion, so let people take Christ out of it. Your do what makes you happy and don't stress yourself with things you can't change(like other peoples beliefs, Please don't go saving people so they can go to heaven, ugh!) By taking Christ out of Christmas it makes it a national holiday with out posing beliefs onto other religious people.
Forget about the controversy today about what happened 2000 years ago and enjoy your family and the people around you!

Live and let live.

I just shortened it when I wrote it, and out of respect for anyone who may Jewish, who does not celebrate Christmas, but celebrates Hanuka. I do it in order to not offend anyone and I think that is why the stores do it now a day as well. Not everyone is out Christmas shopping on Black Friday; some are Hanuka shopping, some are shopping for yule, some are shopping for other reasons. I think its done at stores to not single out any one religion.

Why do people need to ask this question over and over in real life and on yahoo answers? It get so annoying. I mean, seriously- if you wanna celebrate Christ - celebrate it. Live and let live. You can't control me and I can't control you. woopty do!

By the way: I say Christmas. I just don't see what the fuss is about.

You need to realize the only thing Christian about Christmas is the name. Everything else was stolen from pagan celebrations, including the celebration of a "savior-born of a virgin, etc etc (Mithra." on Dec 25th.

To state it must be a CHRISTian celebration only is totally silly. The day is much more than that.
