Had to think about this for some time. What I came up with was..
If I felt I was in love with someone but was trying NOT to be..that means I was not in love, but infatuated with forbidden fruit. How long to get over her..as long as it takes to find the one for me. In other words..until the next one comes along..the infatuation would last.

If I tell someone I love them I mean it. I still care for my ex-wife. I don't love her anymore but at least we're good friends still. Getting over someone you're in love with varies from person to person.

I wouldn't tell a girl I loved her unless I really did, and therefore I wouldn't have to be saying I was trying not to love her. I either love her & nothing else matters, or I don't love her. No gray areas.

A very long time. Certain ones, within days. Others, years.
