No, always thought she was a self centred, manipulative little madam. She wanted to be number one in the royal family and did not like being outshone. She used the press when she needed them and then complained (even though she loved it) when they trailed her. Even so, she did do some good work for charities and no matter what I thought of her as a person, she did not deserve to die the way she did. It maddens me that Dodi had to pay the price for her
behavior though, he was an innocent pawn in yet another one of her plans to form an 'alternative' royal family. I feel so sorry for his father.
By the way, meant to say, although I didn't like her I still don't think she deserved to be treated as badly by the idiot she married. He used her as a brood mare in my opinion. I honestly believe that she was going to announce her engagement to Dodi and the royals couldn't allow that. They could not allow him to be the step-father to the second in line to the throne of England. Well, I will NEVER accept Charles as my King, can't stand the man!

Good question. No it hasn't. I saw her as a victim of the royal family's cynical attempt to improve their popularity rating by giving us a fairy story marriage of a prince and a commoner, without any consideration of how a commoner - particularly a fragile young woman - would cope with it all. I never have blamed Charles - I believe he was as much a victim as Diana. Diana's public image was always much larger than she was - being manufactured by the Establishment. Diana was just a pretty girl from the English upper crust - she simply could not cope with the role prescribed for her. When she cracked under the strain - the Establishment had no further use for her - but this doesn't mean I subscribe to the ludicrous conspiracy theory of her murder. The chances are, she would have married Dodi and they would have disappeared from the limelight - pregnant or not, how could she possibly damage the royal family. My opinion remains the same - a likable personality, but she was no Eva Peron - and certainly no saint.

When she first came upon the scene,I thought she was one of those lucky people who had it all. But as the years passed,and more information about her real situation came out,I found her to be a sad figure;she was stuck in a loveless marriage as well as suffering from the after-effects of a very contentious divorce of her mother and father which left her emotionally scarred.She was a modern-thinking woman who did not want to live by the status quo of the old-view aristocrats,looking the other way,while her husband philandered.That she was able to be of help to so many charitable concerns is remarkable.
Diana was a woman in search of a loving relationship and had no idea on how to go on about it without the press following her every move,and sometimes she even encouraged the attention.While married,she tried cultivating relationships similar to her husband's relationship to the now Duchess of Cornwall and failed at that because of fear of being exposed. Diana tried doing things in the aristocratic way of having affairs and staying married,but it didn't work.She tried flings with married men;I find that sad because she should have known better,being the victim of an adulterous spouse,herself.I think that she was in a rush to find someone,not really taking her time to form a relationship that would eventually work for her,a relationship that wouldn't cause tongues to wag.Or rock the monarchy's boat.
I still like Diana,knowong full well that she was not a perfect person who made some bad choices,but,then,no one is perfect.

My opinion has dramatically changed over the years. Someone did a great job of portraying her as the poor victim who was so mistreated but in reality she was a manipulative, scheming witch who treated people like crap and was bonkers to boot! I still believe her tragic death was horrible, but she reaped a bit of what she sowed. You decide to live the high life you'd better be careful, and the more and more of her secrets that are coming to light do not show her to have been anything other than what the image makers made her.

Yeah, mine has. It seems with every new TV special, biography, or movie featuring Diana I feel more sorry for her. Her life is like a poster for tragedy. I also respect the charity aspect of her life more and more too. For someone to be in that high of a position, so high that people should literally bow, and to actually get down and shake their hands, sit on their hospital beds and talk, hold babies and children that were sick and dieing... it means so much to me now because I often think that if the then Princess of Wales could get down and help people then so should I.

Honestly, I've never been a big Diana fan. Given her family position and history, I find it unlikely that she was not aware of what she was getting into. As she matured, it's possible she would have become the person she presented herself as. Sorry, not trying to be mean. But I do think she was more interested in what was best for Diana.

No I still think she was let down by the Royal Family and Charles in particular, everything stems from that.
Had she not married Charles she would have married someone else and probably been happy. That is the tragedy

Yes. My opinion used to be that she was alive. It is now my opinion that she is dead.
Seriously, I think most famous people take a reputation hit when they kick the bucket. Nobody's life stands up to that sort of scrutiny.
