For those of you who don't celebrate christmas, are you affended when someone says "merry christmas" to you instead of "happy Holidays"? Are you affended by stores calling them "Christmas Sales" instead of "Holiday Sales"?

Thanks everybody! I'm so sick of political correctness. If you really really think about it, it could affend Christians that their holiday doesn't matter. I don't know. All I know is, if someone were to say to me "Happy Hanakau" (I'm really sorry I spelled that wrong), I wouldn't mind because they are wishing me well and it's the thought that counts. Just wanted to see Non-christian's point of view. Thanks everyone again.

I'm not...usually. Most people just want you to have a happy season and share their joy. They don't mean to offend, especially since I don't wear a shirt proclaiming that I'm not a Christian. There are a few people who do know my beliefs and say it just to annoy me.
Most the stores are moving to Happy Holidays, so I don't think it will be a problem much longer.

As an athiest, no. Anyone who isn't celebrating Chanukah or Kwanzaa or Solstice and would rather hear "Happy Holidays" than "Merry Christmas" needs their head checked. If people don't like the Christmas season, then they should be offended by "Happy Holidays" too, because it's basically just a PC euphemism for Christmas.

FYI Christmas was stole from the druids by the Christians. It was a celebration of the winter solstice. New Christians thought pagan holidays were wrong so they usurped it and made it their own. They even went as far as to say it was the birthday of Jesus. even though it is believed he was born in spring.

No, to me Christmas is something special. A holiday can mean anything from Thanksgiving to Veteran's Day. I think Christmas is special whether or not you believe in God and I think it deserves a name other than just "holiday."

No, why should I be. Christmas is now a holiday devoted to the God of shopping and commerce. In most people's everyday experiences, Christmas has little to do with Jesus' birth.

As long as it's not a government agency, I'm fine with it. Hanukkah me, Kwanzaa me, Christmas me, fine. Heck, even throw out a "have a blessed day" if you're militant about it.

I'm an atheist and it doesn't bother me at all. I don't think it should bother anybody--there are times when it is good to be politically correct, but too much of it is bad.

No ... just as long as nobody is offended by "Happy Hannuka", etc.
I start to get unhappy when my taxes pay for property that it is displayed on.
However, what happens on private property (which commercial property is) is fine!
