Samuel Ethan or Zachary James?

It's really important to us that names flow.
We already have 2 daughters and picking out their names seemed so much easier than picking one out for our son!

Thanks!
I'd appreciate outside thoughts on these names.

Thank you all for your thoughts and opinions (except the Poindexter - come on & the guy who said give my son a name with meaning).

Samuel and James are both family names. Samuel Lamb was the first of the Lamb family to come to the United States in my husband's father's family. And my husband's name is James.

I think we're leaning towards Zachary James as well, but it's so hard to know for sure. I think we just feel a lot more pressure because we finally have our son...

I love Zachary James. It sounds really nice together. They're both 2 of my favorite names. Both names are very nice, though. Good luck, and happy holidays! :)

I think they're both very nice names, but I'm leaning towards Samuel Ethan.

I like Zachary James just fine, but unless James is a family name, I'd give it a miss. In the middle spot, it feels too much like a placeholder - the male equivalent of Marie or Anne.

Samuel Ethan has a little more flair, and Sam fits a grown man nicely, whether he's an intellectual, bookish type or more of an outgoing sort.

Best wishes!

Of the two, I prefer Samuel Ethan. While still a popular choice, Samuel still seems quite refreshing next to Zachary (which always manages to sound overused and already-dated in my mind, having known so many over the years).

As far as flow is concerned, Samuel James actually seems to work best, but that's just a personal preference. Samuel Ethan isn't too difficult to say. I think it's just the -el ending of Samuel flowing into the vowel beginning of Ethan that's throwing me off.

I love Zachary James. I love the name Samuel too, but I don't like it paired with Ethan. I would name him Samuel James instead.
