You're entirely correct, except in your use of the term "Palestinians".
The stateless Arabs living Judea, Samaria, and Gaza only started calling themselves Palestinians in the 1970s. In the early 20th century the Arabs, as a whole, rejected the term Palestine, insisting that the area was "Southern Syria".
http://www.palestinefacts.org/pf_ww1_palestine_eveofwar.php
From the time of breakup of the Ottoman Empire (following WWI) until the founding of modern Israel the only people who would have called themselves "Palestinians" were Jews.
The Arabs were referred to simply as Arabs, or Jordanians (in Judea and Samaria) or Egyptians (in Gaza).
For an example, Sirhan Sirhan (who killed Bobby Kennedy) in 1968 was called a Jordanian. But today he would be a "Palestinian".
Or, in their own words:
"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism."

The truth is:
Palestines has had no municipal record to own land in that area back in the time of turkish mandate, not during the british mandate, and they were parialy agricultural,or beduin workers.
When the state of Israel was declared, they have attempted to stabilize their location by offers of the Lebanon authorities to settle in the cities there, by a british capital offer promise to finance that circumstance.
At that point there were little about war between israelis and palestines at all.
The british offer has withdrawn later, propably by a previously constructed plan to destabilize the area after their colonial withdrawal.
Their plan is worked, and there is constant turmoil in Lebanon, lies about how Israelis turned palestines homeless
that even fueled financialy, militarily by the haters of the world.

Sometimes people don't know any better and anything said to discredit the Jews is truth to them. However with the exodus of Jews from Europe after WWII, survivors of the holocaust and emigrees from Russia headed for the original home of the Hebrews which was Palestine, a British protectorate prior to WWII.In 1948, the UN established the state of Israel. If land was stolen blame the UN.

Palestine was the home of a mix of Arabs and Jews (house of Judha).
Britain was in control of the state of Palestine till just after WWII.
Europe did not want the surviving jews (Yidish) to return to their homes through out Europe, and encouraged them to go to Palastine.
England had the League of Nations re-name it to Israel in 1947, and armed the Yidish jewa so that they were not thrown back out by the indigenous people.
Thus the Yidish jews set about evicting the Arabsfrom their rightful homes and taking over the Arabs land. Most of those who wouldn`t leave were murdered.
The Yidish population of America, have kept presure on the American government ever since to arm and protect the Yidish jews in Israel.
There is a similar thing happening with the Albanians, who have moved into Kosova, and now are claiming it, again backed by the English and Americans.
How would Americans like it if the imegrant mexicans, in Texas, suddenly took over the state and claimed it as their rightful independant country...!!

Because they did not read the bible. The Jews where given/stole the land from the Canaanites. Many years later the Romans stole it from the Jews. There was a bunch of other thiefs the Crusaders, Ottoman Empire, Caliph of Baghdad and the British Empire to name a few before the Jews took it once again.
The Arabs are not the aggressors the Jews are, the bible proves it.

The Palestinians were there originally...
The British had a mandate over Palestine for a while, and they seemed to think it was theirs.
After WWII, many Jews were displaced, and the British gave Palestine to the Jews and kicked the original Palestinians out.
Can you see why the Palestinians would be a little unhappy?

While we were in the mosque, Allah's Apostle came out and said, "Let us proceed to the Jews." So we went out with him till we came to Bait-al-Midras. The Prophet stood up there and called them, saying, "O assembly of Jews! Surrender to Allah (embrace Islam) and you will be safe!" They said, "You have conveyed Allah's message, O Aba-al-Qasim" Allah's Apostle then said to them, "That is what I want; embrace Islam and you will be safe." They said, "You have conveyed the message, O Aba-al-Qasim." Allah's Apostle then said to them, "That is what I want," and repeated his words for the third time and added, "Know that the earth is for Allah and I want to exile you from this land, so whoever among you has property he should sell it, otherwise, know that the land is for Allah and His Apostle."
