i know! when i was in colorado (boulder area, where the brand originated i believe) everyone and their mother--literally--wore them. here in connecticut(fairfield county), they are rarely seen and are scoffed at.
the people that do wear them are always fat, have you noticed? i think maybe they are comfortable shoes for people who have a lot of weight to hoist around.

Uhm, because they like them? LOLDUH.
I don't like regular crocs, but I think that the "comfy crocs" with the comfortable inside lining are very comfortable and aren't ugly at all. I like them, and I'm considering buying a pair to wear around the house.

Every style seems ugly at first. They all start in NYC or LA and move outward. I lived 20 minutes outside of NYC for 20 years and I remember when capri pants came out. I thought they were the worst things I'd ever seen. Then I got used to seeing them and they looked good to me. When my girlfriend and I moved to Florida, she had bunch of pairs of capri pants and people said they were ugly. 2 years later, everyone was wearing them because Florida finally caught up with the style. Crocs probably just haven't been in your area long enough yet for you to get used to them. They've been in NYC for four or so years already and supposedly they're comfortable as hell.

So UGLY they are cute and they grow on you...Why didn't you explain EVIL .....!! People need to pick up their feet when they walk and get on escalators.....Kids too, and parents should be watching their kids like a hawk......always.....And being aprotector and teacher so kids will learn to be aware, as the consequences can be troublesome to deal with. I am a Mom been there done that.
......I love my crocs....red, white, 2-black, pink. Keep feet warm in cool weather, and terriffic for gardening and washing my car, waterproof, with great draining capabilities and so very easy to clean.....LOL *****all the holes....When I mop my shiny tile floors they dont slip and slide. Crocs are perfect for around the house. They are totally comfortable to wear as they are light and cushiony. I wear mine almost everywhere. But, I do use good judgement......I didnt like them either until I tried on my Sister's....she went barefoot for a bit, as I didn't want to give them back...then I went shopping. once a Croc lover, always a Croc lover.....Kids, well it has been said that toddlers should be barefoot until they have reached the complete balance stage. Older children shouldn't be wearing these if they are out running, and playing games. Parents need to be sensible. As to that FAT comment.....you have AIR for BRAINS.........and are so wrong....not all us croc loving California Babes are FAT.....anything goes in Calif.

I definitely agree. My husband's family and I discussed this last week, actually, because we had just come back from Maui and about 75% of the tourists there wear these abominable things. Supposedly, they're comfortable and easy to slip on and off. Nurses love them because they can walk around all day in them, and they come in so many different colors that they can match them to their scrubs. They have slip-resistant, non-marking soles, and were originally meant to be boating/outdoor shoes.
That being said, I find it hilarious that any child I've seen wearing these things is always slipping around on floors, falling over, and skinning his/her knees...and then the parents yell at the child to walk normally, when it's their own fault for buying the blasted things. Don't put your toddler in these things, I've seen at least 10 of 'em fall flat on their faces.

For comfort mainly. Some don't wear them all the time, they'll wear them for gardening or whatnot. That's the only time you'd see me wearing them, is if I'm working in my garden.
