Other world-views form a bigger and bigger part of the philosophical and theological tapestry of American life.

Is that OK with Americans generally?

"Judeo-Christian (or Judaeo-Christian, sometimes written as Judæo-Christian) is a term used to describe the body of concepts and values which are thought to be held in common by Judaism and Christianity, and typically considered (sometimes along with classical Greco-Roman civilization) a fundamental basis for Western legal codes and moral values. In particular, the term refers to the common Old Testament/Tanakh (which is a basis of both moral traditions, including particularly the Ten Commandments); and implies a common set of values present in the modern Western World."

"Our Founding Fathers separated church from state, but they wisely did not separate God from state; they acknowledged God as the source of our rights, and, in fact, they were careful to place Biblical morality directly into our founding documents and laws..."

Hey, Welcome back!
Well, I for one would not be too happy about it. It seems morals and values are going by the wayside. I would hope that we still have a modicum of decency left to grow and flourish.

Sure, the 'values' have been perverted over the years anyway. There are 'right' values and there are 'left' values which often conflict. Each seems to only accept the values that support their particular position. So...........there are other religions in the world that have some great principles if you want to pick and choose which values you endorse. Or why not just pick the values you want without religion coming into it at all?

Libs will always see this nation as a secular nation. They dont understand that many of the Founding fathers were indeed Christians. Many of the things they wrote, and even wrote in the constitution were inspired by the foundations set forth in Judeo Christian values. Libs want to change that history, or attack the founding fathers by insulting their character. I think most Americans are offended by the libs attempt to change the nation and make is a godless, secular entity.
They have an agenda, and that agenda is power and greed. At any cost. The founding fathers simply stated that you can worship whatever god you want, not that no god at all should be worshipped by anyone because it may offend someone.
IN god we trust was written on our currency and they still want to deny or attack the fact that our foundation and the basic institutions we established that made us so great were indeed Judeo Christian fundementally.
I think we will be far worse off in the future if we replace our traditional values with no values at all... which is exactly what the libs want to do.

People should be free to decide their values.

There are better ones than Judeo-Christian.

Bush is a Christian but places little value on the lives of innocents. Oil and Profit is more important.

The Jews are committing Ethnic Cleansing or even Genocide in Palestine/Israel.

Are they not worried what kind of Hell they are going to?

Even assuming that your premise is correct, which I don’t accept, those values can be expanded upon by an increasingly enlightened society. The Enlightenment ideas that the founders incorporated into the Constitution were primarily the result of the reasoning and philosophies of 18th Century thinkers. People are still thinking -- I hope.

So interesting that the thoughts of our founding fathers are viewed one way by some of your responders but if you read their other writings of the period you will see that Judeao-Christian concepts were the foundation to all our governmental structures. Without them we are doomed to the secular view promoted by Communists

That is an impossible question to answer as you do not specify what Judeo-Christian values the nation was founded on.

I do not accept the premise of your question. The United States was not founded on "Judeo-Christian values." It was founded on secular constitutional principles.

Well many of the founding fathers were not Christians. Thomas Jefferson was not a Christian, Benjamin Franklin was an Atheist. George Washington was not a true Christian, because we know for fact that he owned and raped slaves, which is hardly a Christian value.

So I reject your question!
