a. Believe her.
b. Pretend you believe her.
c. Insist that something is wrong and get in a fight.

My approach is to not insist with words, but to give her the look that lets her know that I'm not fooled, but also comforts her that I care. It's all in the eyes. :)

Well, I think that if you have spent a decent amount of time with this girl, you will have this feeling and know if something's really wrong or not.

My suggestion is to act in such way that you won't need to get in the Whats-wrong-part... Try to make her feel as secure and confident as possible, gain her trust, and you'll never hear this.

If you do hear this though, this may mean lots of stuff...
a) she wants to get your attention and show you care and ask her over and over again,
b) she doesnt feel secure enough to tell you whats in her mind and her deep thoughts,
c) she might be immature and think you just have to have a psychic-gift to read her mind every minute...

In any case just try to explain, if you really care for this girl, that you are there for her, to listen to her worries, and that you always enjoy talking about what's in her mind or your mind. Try to make her feel secure, comfortable and protected. Most women, not to say all, want to feel this when with a guy...

There also could be a more simple answer to that, like:
a) actually nothing's wrong
b) she is not in a discussion kind of mood...

It also has to do with the age and maturity of this girl. I mean I would expect that a mature and confident girl / woman would tell what's wrong if there is really something wrong... I mean why making our lives difficult and don't say whats on our minds? Whats the point?

If I were her, then I would definately not go for the nothing's wrong honey solution if something was wrong indeed. So (c) would not be an option. Do ask once or twice or even three times, provided that you really care - if you ask just to show you care, she might be able to tell and that will only make things worse - but not insist in an exaggerated way. She is not 5 years old - i hope - anymore.. She should speak up...

Hope I helped, even if i didnt go for any of the a,b,c but i hope you got a new perspective there...

Cheers!

When a girl says "nothing is wrong" this probably is a lie. In the contrary that means there is something wrong.
But asking again and again is not the solution. The best thing is preparing something nice for her and make her feel comfortable. then she will tell what is wrong.
When you hear that thing you shouldn't get angry or say "oh this is nonsense, this is stupid "to her. because it might be stupid for you but apparently it is important for her.
In the relationships common mistake made is that each individual think that what he/she doing is absolutely right and the other ideas are nonsense.
People need to listen to eachother and listen and hear. You know they are different:-)

If she says Nothing even after I try a few times I must admit I move on to something more interesting ...like a soccer game.
Ok..ok im joking!
But truth be told I hate having to dance around people for a straight answer. If I did something wrong or if there is a problem tell me and I will fix it if I can.
End of story.

Don't believe her. When she says "Nothing", she means "Try to find out. You have done something that made me sad!" . The best way to make her talk to you is to pretend you believe her, say "OK., what else?? May I tell you a joke I heard just now??"
She will .. confess!
