convert the units
100cm=1m
1000 m=1 km
5.5 cm*1m/100cm*1km/1000m
that is the distance, s

1000 ms= 1 sec
6.1 ms *1 sec/1000 ms
that is the time t
relate t and s through
s=.5*a*t^2
2*s/t^2=a
plug in the s and t to get

a=2.96 km/s^2
