I am upgrading my Motherboard, hard drive, memory, video card, and CPU. Do I have to get another key or do I just reactivate Windows?

Because of all the hardware that you are changing, XP will probably not want to register under your existing CD-KEY, but not to worry. Just call the number on the registration screen. The first person/thing that you will be talking to is a computer. You will be asked for the complete installation code (not the CD-KEY). It is a series of 9 sets of numbers, 6 numbers to the set. You will then more then likely be switched to a real person. This person will ask how many computers this copy of Windows is installed to. Say "one". You will then be give a "new" code that you will type into the boxes. You will then be told to click "next". That it, you system will now boot to Windows and everything will be registered.

Be advised, the person you will be talking to is located in India and are usually a bit had to understand, so just go slow. I've done this many many times and never had a problem.

Don't worry, I have installed my copy on 2 entirely different systems. One is an Emachine, the other is a Gateway. No problems at all. Just save all your information on a disk and go for it. Should be easy!
