Let me Start by telling you that I am an Art Educator. I Also thaught regular classroom. The importance relies in the student, and his ability to learn...Art is all around our world, and when students are learning they need to feel a connection between them, their world and what they can do. I cant refer directly yo music but I am sure it is the same. My life is the most important thing to me. The things that I do and the things that are around me are the most valuable things that I can use to give my life a meaning. All this things are refer to me as Art. The world started with The Creation, and that is Art to Create.

The Short answer to your question is:
Fine Arts are directly related to you; what you do and how you choose to do it. This makes learning easy, because it is related directly to you.

The humanities and fine arts helps make a student more fully human and more fully aware of their identitiy and the world around them. There's one side of school where we produce workers for the economy, and there's the other side: where we turn students into thinkers and empathizers and able to critically process big ideas. Why would we want a world without ideas or empahty?

It makes a student well rounded. We should all be able to appreciate music and art. You never know what a student is interested in so they need as many experiences as possible. What if that little boy is the next Picasso or that little girl is the next mozart? Each person needs to be exposed to different experiences so they can develop their likes and dislikes and talents.

You just don't know which kids are going to gravitate to the arts and have it become their "passion" or life vocation. Some kids will gravitate to sports, math, writing, history and some to music, theater or art.
