If my banana tree is not producing fruit (it's about 6 months old and 6' tall), how can I tell if it needs another plant? The greenhouse person where we bought it claims it does not need a 2nd plant to produce, but I'm not sure now that she was correct.

Thanks.

Bananas are self fertile but only produce fruit on stalks that are two years old. So if you live in an area where they die back every winter, they will not produce bananas.

You Don't Need A 2nd Plant To Reproduce, It could Also Depend On The Location. If It Is Too Warm Or Too Cold Than The Tree Will Slowly Die.Try Reading This Website:

I don't know, go to a plant specialist, or a food specialist
