I'v replaced the first bulb of the half that doesn't work with a working bulb, but that didn't fix it. All the sockets have bulbs. I've wiggled the wires and it makes no difference. I don't want to just throw them away. Any suggestions?

How do I replace the fuse? And where do I find a new fuse?

Take a working bulb and replace the second bulb. Take the bulb that was in the second socket and replace the third bulb. Continue moving down the line until the strand lights up.

I have used this system for 20 years, and never had it fail.

If there is more than one bad bulb, trade each bulb one at a time out to a strand that works. As you move down the line, you will know a bad bulb when the good strand doesn't light up when you put in the test bulb. Replace the bad bulb in the first strand (the one you're testing), and keep going until the test strand lights up. If you get to the end and it doesn't light up, then you have to buy a new strand.

well, it's possible to locate the bulb that is the first burnt out one and replace the fuse in it and make all the other ones work.

when one fuse is blown, the rest of the chain is down.

but the guy above might have a point: maybe throwing them away is a good option if you don't want to remove the bulbs and fuses?

Don't waste time fixing it. Lights are only $1-2 now, just buy a new box, this way they don't burn out during Christmas

Check the little fuses in the plugs, and make sure you don't have a pinched wire somewhere.

Check your non working bulbs one at a time with a working bulb.

Throw them a way. Buy a new set. You will have to replace all the burnt out bulbs, anyway. You might as well, just buy a new set. They are not that expense, go to Walmart.
