There were some rumours of that in October 1941 that approaches were being made through Tsar Boris of Bulgaria but it is now believed to be a plot by Beria to confuse the Germans and stall them while preparations were made foor the defence of Moscow

It was my understanding that the Soviet Army & the German Army at the officer Corps level had considerable contact, perhaps even war games. [see Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact] and the Soviet Union was surprised by Hitler's attack... the Soviet Officer Corp was particulaly surprised.

After the attack I don't think Stalin and the Russian people would have considered any option other than to defend their motherland.

If he did consider it, he had shot anyone who heard him say so! When the tide finally turned (the Winter Campaign, 1943) Stalin claimed that his plan all along was to lure the Nazis deep into Russia, and then.... But if that campaign hadn't worked, who knows what he may have done?

most likely not. stalin believed in his own ability to do anything through his country. he didnt care if he was the only russian left after WWII, he was gonna take berlin from the moment the germans & russinas signed the Non-Agression Pact.

The Germans broke a treaty with the Soviets to invade Russia, so I don't think they would have been interested in making another one.

He was hoppin mad at the invasion and would never have considered a peaceful solution until the Nazi's were driven from the 'Motherland'.
