first you need to figure out if you want to do glass blowing (making larger things like vases or whatever you fancy) or lamp working (most frequently done to make glass beads but you can really do anything small with it, if you want to make small animal figures you would also choose this technique).

Then you need to find the appropriate class for you. Because much less equipment is needed lamp working classes will be easier to find than glass blowing classes. You can probably eventually do lamp working at home, but you will never be able to do glass blowing at home (unless you are seriously rich). Also you can do lamp working all by yourself, but glass blowing is something where you usually need at least 2 people for (also why you should take a class, you will find other people also interested there).

Just look if there is either a glass studio which also teaches in town (yellow pages) or look at the next university, art school or art academy (their website will tell you if they offer any glass working at all).
