Why do people come to computer land to ask if they are pretty?

Are you fishing for a complement? Are you really that insecure? Why would you care what we thought?

well,,the person behind the computer is a person,,,the computer just relays the message we have typed to mr/ms 'individual' who has a concern or wants advise from strangers,,,,
I love yahoo answeres because you can get a little information about a person like,,,how much he plays,,and the questions he's been ranked 'best' at.
whoever came up with this info-game,,has my vote of approval.
I had a dentist pinpoint exactly what went wrong in the procedure that was done on my tooth,,and he had the right remedy too.
I looked at his contact information and it said that 67% of the time,,,he was given best answer to his question,,and it appeared like the only answers he gave was in 'dentistry' catagory,,,so yeah,,we are REAL people out here tryin' to help others,,via,,our computers.

There are a few reasons:
1. They are insecure so they need people to tell them that they are gorgeous.
2. They are just straight up people asking for opinions other than their friends. Cyber people will [mostly] be honest with them.
3. They want a relationship with a cyber man

4. They are looking for attention.

Maybe there's a reason for a question like that, but
beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, it could come
from within as well as the physical appearance. Most
folks are'nt sure (smile), and sometimes we don't
understand that which we cannot see, but if one under-
stand themselves! then there is no need to question beauty.
The internet can't define that quality because everyone is
beautuful in their own way!

I haven't seen an ugly person on here yet ask if they were pretty. It is mostly teenagers looking for a complement I think.

We are told in all media that our external features are an important part of us. So asking people what why think is important. Internet is probably the place where asking such a questions holds the least risk. After all you can just ignore the answers here.

Because they think they can get an answer without anyone actually seeing them. Because they are insecure and need compliments. Because they don't have the common sense to look in the morror and compare what they see to the "Acceptable" versions of "Pretty"

This is an age old tradition, before the queen asked her magic mirror, "mirror mirror on the wall, who is fairest of all" and now as we have computer ppl come and ask here.

Humans craving to be recognised, appreciated and respected gives you so many stories in newspaper, instead of being negative about it i request you to be positive about it and start appreciating, respecting and recognising them and i am sure you will have a more rewarding life.

they want someone to tell them they are pretty however they don't have enough self esteem to ask people in their real life...also if you are told by people online you aren't pretty it's a lot easier to not take it personally as where if someone in your real life told you that you aren't pretty it would sting more....

or possibly they aren't sure if people in real life who claim they are pretty are being honest or just saying they are pretty to not hurt their feelings so they ask people online who have nothing to lose and don't care if they hurt your feelings by being honest

and some yes are just fishing for compliments.

I was wondering that to, I think that girls have no life or has been hurt very bad by someone and they just do that because they want to have someone make them feel like how they want to feel, now i would never do that, would u?
