AL-QUEDA SYMPATHIZERS!!!!!!!

2007-11-25 03:13:08 · answer #1 · answered by realitycheck 3 · 5 3

That 11% also covers the Republicans within the Congress. There is actually a separate poll covering the Dems and Republicans within the Congress. The democrats fair a bit better but not good. They are so closely divided that very little is getting accomplished. I would say the 11% realize this fact and think twice about calling them all a bunch of losers.

the ones that still hope they can get something done. no need for me to rehash what other posters have said (about that 11% being inclusive of Republicans -- the majority of Dems is slim), so i'll say this:

America elected the Democrats to stop the nonsense. it has been much, much harder to stop the nonsense than America has the patience for. who knew that the President himself would violate the law and prevent people from testifying before Congress? who knew that the VP would rape the Constitution by classifying each and every damning piece of evidence of wrongdoing?

the vast majority of America don't know the details, they just know they're still getting screwed by BushCo. hence the low congressional approval ratings.

I don't know.

If congress stops funding the war, and vote to impeach George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, then those numbers would be reversed.

I think Congress would then have more than a 70 percent approval rating.

I am one. And thankful we have control of the House and a Majority in the Senate. I am grateful to Ried for keeping the Senate open - so that Bush would not be able to put in more recess appointments.
And there have been some acheivements, - one of them getting rid of Gonzales and bringing back oversight.
When we have more votes, we will get more accomplished but it did end part of the rubber stamp Congress GWB enjoyed for 6 years.

Don't know where you get your facts probably from Bill O'reily
Here is the truth:
The Democratic leadership in Congress has lost some support among Americans — but not so much that the public wants Republicans back in charge, according to results of a new CNN/Opinion Research Poll released Friday.

Nearly half of 515 poll respondents, or 49 percent, said they disapproved of what Democratic leaders in Congress have done since taking over in January. Forty-two percent said they approve. In May, 49 percent of poll respondents approved and 44 percent did not.

However, 57 percent said they believe Democratic control of Congress is good for the country, as opposed to 31 percent who said it is not. In November, the same month midterm elections were held and Democrats assumed control, 67 percent of poll respondents said Democratic control of Congress is good for the nation.

The sampling error for those questions is plus or minus 4.5 percent, as they were asked of a half sample out of 1,029 poll respondents.
