Of course one should go if one lives in a democracy.
If you believe in democracy, that means you must accept the electoral outcome even if it isnt your personal choice.
If your elected leader then asks you to fight for your country, then you should fight.
If one has a problem with this then they should have stood for election themselves or left the democracy for a place that would suit their needs better.
Anyone dodging the draft should be imprisoned for a lengthy term and be treated with the contempt they deserve for failing to support their fellow countrymen in battle. The more troops, the easier we win,the less casualties we utlimately take.

Im 20, my father was drafted to Vietnam when he was 19 and was there for the course of the war. Everybody at home knew it was not a war worth fighting for, my father lost some of his best friends, and the saddest part is that he didn't know of the vast opposition to the war until the day he got home. If there was a draft I would be able to dodge it legally because of medecation I am on, but even so I rather be thrown in jail then fight in a worthless war. I'm not saying all wars are un-just, but in my opinion if there is a draft then it is probably not a war worth fighting.

i'm 17 years previous, and in a position reminiscent of yours. regardless of the reality that I (in all threat) will stay interior the U.S. all my existence, I oppose any type of defense force draft. i'm making plans to flow to college this coming fall, and am involved by in spite of if or no longer college pupils would be excused from the draft as nicely. As for shifting to a different u . s . a ., i'm undecided what the regulations say. in spite of the shown fact that, i've got faith they might make it easier to flow distant places supplied you haven't any longer yet been drafted. If the timing is undesirable, and you're drafted in simple terms in the previous you progression, i won't be in a position to help yet ponder whether they might restrict the flow and tension you to serve interior the defense force. regardless of the reality that i do no longer trust this, i'm afraid that's what the government will do. It has performed worse in the previous, and could accomplish that back. i do no longer think the draft would be reinstated, although. i'm at present discovering this for a speech type, and it variety of feels the draft is in simple terms no longer reinstated till we've an entire substitute of Congress, by using fact at present purely representative Rangel from N.Y. helps a draft. i does no longer worry too lots if I have been you.

I would deem it a privilege and an honor to again serve my country, but since I was in the Marines from 60-68, I doubt the country would give me that chance. I fought so these who choose to be draft dodgers, like Clinton ,would continue to have that right!! USMC 60-68

It would largely depend on what war it was. If it was something I was seriously opposed to then I would try to dodge it, but other then that I would go. If we are talking about the war in Iraq I would go, not because I believe in the cause but because we have screwed up the country so much we need to stay there until some order is established.

I would go if I were younger. At 52 they probably wouldn't draft me.

I would go.
Technically speaking, being a president is deadlier than being in the military.

With all the benefits the military gives, I don't see the point of resisting.
