I was baptized, confirmed and otherwise indoctrinated into the cult of Christianity.
I managed to free myself and I have done my best to make sure my children are not indoctrinated before they are able to make an intelligent, educated decision.
I have done my best not to poison there minds against or for any form of spirituality. I have taught them that spirituality is a personal journey.
If my children choose to join the Christian cult in one form or another, I will not be disappointed. I will support their decision wholeheartedly because my children are free, intelligent human beings.
Can those of you who belong to one form or another of the Christian cult and who have indoctrinated your children into it since before they were conscious say the same of your children?
I only use the Christian cult as an example. Islam is also a cult. Judaism is a cult.
Any belief system that is instilled in a human being from before that being is conscious and is reinforced as the only truth daily through out that person's adolescence is a cult.
You who have not dealt with your indoctrination are not free human beings.
I have tolerated your nonsense all of my conscious life. I will continue to tolerate it. But, if at times I choose to point out how ludicrous I feel it is, that is MY right, and you WIll tolerate it.
I have never visited Y/A R&S. I choose to ridicule the hatchling right here, right now.

I'd love to have some specifics on this, please, so I can better adress your question. If you mean why people make fun of Michelle Bachmann when she claims to see/hear messages from "a Jehovah God" in the weather, then that's pretty much self-explanatory. Edit to hurts: Hmmm, that actually paints the issue with a rather large brush -- I know many non-liberals who are either atheists or agnostics, and who do not hesitate to use language such as "faery tale" and "magic invisible man" when discussing/arguing with religionists. Perhaps if -- in the discussion of religious freedom -- if religionists werent so quick to say things like "You are going to hell" and "you are too stupid to believe in God"; and maybe keep religious beliefs private and out of government, public schools, text books, medical research and medical policy, science, etc. etc etc, maybe then there might be less ridicule and less name calling. By the way I don't see name calling during a debate as being "discrimination". I always wonder why my personal rights to freedom of religion or to have no religion at all are considered fair game for oppression by religionists.

Too many people are free with the insults on this site. Anybody that uses insults to make a point, has no point to make and therefore they aren't credible. It happens to me all the time. Instead of answering my question they call me a name, because they don't know the answer or have anything worthwhile to say.

For liberals it's OK to cast Christians as repressive, mean-spirited hypocrites capable of any depravity (like say.....getting oral sex from a white house intern IN the Oval Office WHILE conducting official gov't business.)
God forbid, however, that you cast aspersions on the faith and morality of young Muslim men caught in this country with no visible means of support and possible ties to terrorist organizations. That would be an insult.

Hypocrisy is rampant amongst liberals.
They say they want diversity, but then anyone who thinks differently than them is treated like trash.
Liberals just want to force their values down everyone else's throats, but conservatives can be accused of the same thing in many cases.
"Live and let live" isn't a popular idea.

That's probably because the majority of liberals aren't christians, and have no concept of God.

I think you are mistaken. On R&S Christians insult atheists and atheists insult christians, there is nothing about liberal and conservative. Not all liberals are atheists nor are all atheists are liberals.
I am tolerant... if you don't insult me first. If you have a legitamet question about religion that i know how to answer, then i will answer it. Did you not notice that half of the questions on Y!A are insulting atheists? "why are atheists so stupid?" sort of things. if i feel insulted i will not be nice to you.

So we are all liable for a group who hangs out in the R&S section? A small section of the Liberal population?
If you said "Have you ever noticed how some "tolerant" liberals insult other peoples spiritual beliefs?," then there isn't a problem. But don't try to blanket us all.
I'm not disputing that some are. But please don't treat all liberals based of a sect in a particular section. There are hypocrites for all groups.

I dont find it pathetic. What I do find it to be is comical that those who dont believe in God are at the same time offended by Him : )
How can you be offended by something you claim doesnt exist?!!!

Yeah, but they don't care about right and wrong, just that they allow themselves "freedom of speech", not a person with morals and values they learned from God.
