Why do liberals always want to throw this science stuff in our faces? why can't they leave us alone to live our lives in peace?

They want a grant. It is how they live, just as a salesman needs to 'show' a business plan to get an account. Personally, I need to see a 'benefit' in tracking the tuna and sharks beyond using the data for fishermen in poor countries to wipe out the sealife due to poverty pressure.
Knowledge isn't always a good thing. We don't 'better' the quality of everything we are involved with, did you notice?

The problem with the oceans is the problem of "The Commons". That is, that no individual owns them. People who truly want to "do something" about the oceans should give people some sense of "ownership" over parts of the ocean. This will give individuals greater incentive to be good caretakers.

And why are you calling scientist liberals? Scientists are doing the research. How do liberals come into play? Oh wait, this question is supposed to be bashing liberals. So it's okay for you to want your 'peace', but it's okay to insult others who have nothing to do with this?
Not once in that article did it say Liberal or Democrat.

I would assume that since these studies effect the well-being of the earth, that other countries will be included in paying for this equipment. In fact, I think the article even said that.

When you have a president who spends like a drunken sailor with an unlimited AMEX card, the payments start coming due, sooner or later. We've passed sooner and now are facing later.
If you want to keep taxes lower, write to Bush and tell him to cut his nonsensical spending.

Because they don`t know how....They will do what they do best and tax the hell out of us. In the last debate they all said that a $97,000 combined income are this people who need to be taxed more. Like you said hang on to your wallet
