Isn't it ironic? Prime Minister John Howard of Australia had expected his treasurer Peter Costello to take over his position as the new Prime Minister should he had won the election and stepped down later when he retired.

Apparently, it is not going to happen anymore.

Sometimes this is good. You can't just go and change the labour laws too much. Besides, interest rates are now so high, and families can no longer come together under normal hours. These are just too much to take.

This is indeed democracy. The Australian people have spoken. They are not blind. Nobody can take them for granted. That is one for you, Australians!
