I agree with Nasha, editing the Registry is a very dangerous. If you remove the wrong file you could destroy your complete system. So before you do any messing around in the Registry, back it up. It's easy. Open the "Run" control and type "regedit" without the qoutes and hit enter. When the Registry open, click File and the Export. Export a copy of the Registry to your desk top. Then if you screw up you can open in safe mode and Import the saved copy.

Editing the registry is very dangerous unless you know what your doing. Always create a system restore point, and registry backup before attempting.
Start > Run > Type regedit

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com
It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

Only attempt this if you know what you're doing.
But first, who says you're infected??
And what does it say you're infected with??
There's so much spoofy spam out there that tells you these lies just to get you to buy their product.
I guess the bottom line is, you need to provide more info about what, where, when, who, & why?
