Whole bean or Ground, How do you buy your coffee?

Randy...you don't have a grinder....You have a small food processor. One of those little two bladed devices that BEAT thing to smaller sizes. A coffee grinder will have two sets of grinding surfaces, some type are discs some are cones. Anyway, you will not find much improvement, other than a tad more flavor from this process. Also, since you will probably be buying beans from a market and not a roaster, the coffee will not be anywhere near fresh. BUT you are on the right track. DO yourself a favor and find a local roaster that will sell you FRESH roasted coffee, not several month old beans that have been shelved in a stockroom or warehouse. Or go radical and go back to the way of your great grandparents....Roast your own.... Oh, and to the question of how long....the longer you run it the hotter the grounds get and the worse it will taste.

I have bought both but recentyl acquired a coffee grindewr so I am now buying beans - I love the whole process of grinding the bean, measuring and tamping the coffee etc etc. - the effort makes the final result all the more enjoyable

I buy Dunkin Doughnuts Whole bean coffee, we grind it fresh each morning and it really makes the kitchen smell great.

I don't know. My wife handles all these things. I'm not fond of coffee. I do take green leaf tea with milk 4-5 times in the day. India is famous for tea plantation and good quality plants.

I don't buy coffee. If I'm ever in the mood, I'll stop buy a coffee shop and pick up a mocha frap..
