Hello all,
I am considering pursuing my B.A in Homeland Security/Emergency Preparedness. Does anyone have a degree in this field? What is its value? I think it would be great to land a job with the Department of Defense, but what are the odds even with this degree? If that plan doesn't work out, what could one use this degree for? Can anyone shed some light?

I think you might do better finding your passion and getting a degree in that field. Art, Humanities, Philosophy, and other liberal arts education will help you learn to think clearly and communicate effectively with others.

It's not all about you and it's not all about maximizing your income potential, despite what the media would like you to believe.

Personally, "Homeland Security" sounds a lot like propaganda that Nazi Germany would have promoted. I suspect that this is a growing field and there may be a lot of work. However, do you really want to spend the rest of your life being one of the munions who enforce a polilce state?
