We have an unfortunate tendency of being highly sensitive to the negatives, while screening out the positives. It's just human nature. The more extreme the negative, the louder it screams.

That's what the reasoning is behind Scream Therapy.
They suggest using a pillow......try it. You may need a Lemon Icee after wards....Fazoli's has them. They're really good for scratchy sore throats this time of year. I know, I'm off-topic, again!
SORRY!
I think we all hafta work extra hard to remind ourselves to focus on the Positives. The good thing is, they're there, but they do tend to skip a week or two at a time, huh?
I mean, I work alot of hours, which is basically a Negative, but then again, I get to meet alot of different people of all ages, even their pets sometimes, which is basically a Positive.
So, although all the hours I spend toiling away is a very huge Negative, all the little Positives really add up.
I'm still waiting for my lottery numbers to add up!

Positives are the norm. Positives just fade into the background of all of the other positives. Negatives are unusual, and they're interesting and sometimes dangerous. They draw our eye like a single blue flower in a field of grass. We're fascinated by them because they provide an opportunity to learn, and an opportunity to declare ourselves superior to the poor schmuck that's suffering the negative.

We pass them on to other people because we think they may interest others, so they proliferate more than the positives, resulting in many, many copies of a single negative flying around few if any copies of the multitude of positives.

The negatives scream, the positives whisper. But what would you rather listen to? Someone/thing screaming at you, or someone/thing whispering to you? Listen to the whispers, Hon, and when the screams start, whisper more.

Someone came up with "norms" and darn it, the scream of the positives are buffered by the "norms" (sorta like being domed in)...Since negatives are outside the "norm", their screams are very audible.

Negatives give you no other option but to ask for help but positives make you wanna stay safely quiet.

That's just cause we are trained to think of the negatives before jumping into something. Personally I don't and get myself in alot of trouble over it!

I don't think I've ever heard a positive scream. They keep their good thoughts to themselves, darn them.

To recognize positives is a choice.
Negatives tend to cram themselves down our throats. Until we choke or suffocate....♥
