We sold a psp on ebay and we had TONS of problems with the buyer. They said that they hadn't received the item and wanted their money back.
We looked on the royal delivery website, typed in the post verification code, and actually SAW WITH OUT OWN EYES that it had been signed for. (with the electronic signer thingy)
The next thing we knew was that PayPal had taken out the 200 quid from our PayPal account without our authorisation. Luckily we had taken the money out before their stupid transaction so we were only left with a minus amount in our account. We then canceled our card and got a new one.
Can PayPal still take money out of our PayPal account? (we don't have a direct PayPal account, only with card.)

Has this ever happened with anybody else too?

People....
we HAVE contacted PayPal. We DID get details from the post office.
We think that it was a flat of students, so one of them could have signed for it and kept it for them selves.
None of this is our fault. PayPal have been sued before from fraud practice and the suing had been sucsessful.

If you had proof of delivery via the Royal Mail site then Paypal are definitely wrong to have taken the money back! Go to the site PAYPALSUCKS.com and you'll see you're not alone!

The problem is you didn't follow procedure.

Paypal takes the money out but DOES NOT give it to the buyer until there is a full investigation.

Instead of contacting paypal and providing EVIDENCE that the buyer did receive the PSP, you took self-help measures, and that action can not only affect your credit (b/c you are still responsible for paying for the $200...and a collection agency will eventually call you whether you realize it or not), but will probably terminate any and all future Palpal contracts that you can generate.

Not a smart move on your part.

Paypal is an excellent company....but they have procedures in place.

You also had the option of shipping ONLY to the individual who made the purchase. You also had the option of insuring the property...these are choices.

If you did have these measures in place, then the carrier could be liable if the wrong person signed for it and the carrier failed to check an ID.

It may have been signed for - BUT - do you know it was signed for by the proper person -

Anyway, Paypal will always side with the buyer in cases like this - you need to get in touch with the Post Office and get the copy of the signing details (or from web) and then get in touch with Paypal to get the matter sorted.

Paypal do this quite a lot however, it is also a common trick used by some buyers on Ebay - coz they work the system.

I understand your frustration but did you bother to contact pay pal and put your side of the transaction detail to them? In any business transaction you will find that the payer will be given the benefit of the doubt unless you can prove otherwise.
This is a major problem with any internet dealings as you just don't know the nature of the person[s] you're dealing with and I'm sure you have heard many a story of scamers out there.
Personally I can't believe so many people fall for internet scams - just the lure of a 'fast buck'. But that's another issue.....
Meanwhile, do take your case to the administrators at pay pal and you will see they can be very reasonable. Also, if it can be proved the other party was attempting to scam you, they will blacklist him/her from both pay pal and eBay. It may take a while but they will come through for you.

PAYPAL SUCKS!!! They and eBay think they own the freaking world.. I think Paypal can turn you into collections. You won't be able to open or close a paypal account. If you were able to prove that someone signed for it that should satisfy Paypal but I don't know about international shipping. Good luck.

If he has signed for the item but claiming he has not got it I would claim your money back through the small claims court. Including you court fee! It is not very complicated and it might just make him pay up before it gets to court.
