serious question. and because of that they are proud and obnoxious. if i'm gonna get flamed for this by any american, it'll just prove a point that they really think that they're above the rest and the rest of the world thinking they're proud and obnoxious is a major crime or something.

being proud of your own country is one thing, being too ignorant and arrogant thinking that you guys are number1 in everything and that you guys cant be defeated, is another. good going. thanks for proving my point. hehe.

Soon even Bangladesh will be doing better than the US! How are the Americans going to take it when both Canada and Mexico have more vibrant economies? All things come to an end, not one nation on Earth is perpetual and eternal!

I think you're just showing everyone how close minded you are by grouping all Americans into one stereotype. I've never though I was a superpower that would last forever. I am however, proud of my country - something you should be too. And don't say you are and expect us not to say we are. I 'm sure there are plenty of Americans who think like that, but for the most part, it's people like you who think about it all the time. I never knew how bad some of you hated us Americans til I started coming on Y/A. I can't understand it. Is it jealousy?
Why does it bother you so bad that Americans are proud of their country? Are you not proud of yours? Strange to me. And where does this misconception of yours come from that we sit and think about being a superpower? Its people like you that think about it all the time.
Now, if you're talking about Bush & our leaders, that's a different story. A majority of Americans hate Bush and everything he stands for - and the ones that didn't during the last election, well they do now. But to say that it's the American people is a bit like saying all British people have rotten teeth.
Nowhere in your question did you state "Not all Americans" or "some Americans"
That's why you're flamed
edit - bushrod ibister - you got it right on

nothing lasts forever
however, can you imagine the mess the world will be in with countries like china and India as so called 'superpowers'
i suppose it might make them act with some sense of responsibility and
1) not continue to abuse the resources of the world in a raged effort to industrialise
2) start to limit their outrageously large populations
3) take care of their ridiculously large populations
4) have more regard for the female members of their societies
5)in the case of India - modernise and try to move away from the outrageous caste system - and cut down the need for begging

Your poor sentence structure certainly diminishes your point considerably. But, you're certainly entitled to your little opinion. You provide nothing for validation.. So, it's nothing more than random posturing.
But since I enjoy a very fine quality of life as an American , the finest and most powerful country in the world, I can dismiss frivolous rants like yours.
Have a great day, Sweetie. I certainly will.

And what is so wrong with being proud of our country? You are free to say what you want but I have to point out that you have not met every American nor are you the spokesperson for the world. This post is your opinion only.

I think one of the biggest problems in USA is their consumption rate, they have an unsustainable style of living that will not last very long

Who needs to be a super power? We need a good quality of life for our citizens and secure borders. Thats all we need. The average American is too busy earning a living and taking care of his or her family to care about all this superpower crap. Its y'all that are obessed with it.

We are Ameicans. We are well aware that all major empires have fallen throughout history. It seems, to us, that we need some serious changes in border security, government spending and use of fossil fuels.....SOON!
