Whites feel guilty because of Slavery, and because of the racism they feel in their hearts.

They hate to be reminded of their sins, because it ruins the self-righteous image that they have created of themselves.

You have a point. 'Race' certainly made a difference to white folks for a long time. On the other hand, these days the problems facing black people are the same problems facing all working class people. What seperates one group of wage-earners from another is a lot less than what we all have in common. I suspect that the one thing that keeps the problem of racism alive is that part of 'black culture' that even most blacks find offensive. The 'gangsta' business. Before the rise of civil rights, blacks, '******' as they were called, were the most conservative people in America. They had their own positive institutions, roll models, business' and were at least as law-abiding as any like group of whites. I suspect that for the most part that's still the case. But let's be real...educated black guys in suits and ties have a lot less trouble than some punk in a street gang and as you've probably noticed it's the guys in the street gangs that get all the bad publicity....and that kind of behavior stains every black citizen. I don't have an answer for all this, but that's more or less where it stands. Maybe it will take another generation to sort all this out. Let us pray!

In the Constitution it says all men are equal, they just didn't say white, because they assumed only white people would ever read it, because at the time it was wrote *****'s were slaves and were not considered human but owned property.
Therefor most white or Caucasians still believe the same, our government need to ratify the Constitution to read HUMANS, rather than man or men

How about putting the entire racism ordeal away. No more racism either way.
The goal should be equality. Not anger.

Any preferential treatment to any group for any reason only will create anger from other groups.

Because playing the race card removes logic and content from the argument, reducing it to a schoolyard level of childish, "did to", "did not" type of thing.

Shouldn't your avatar be Denzel in "X"?

I have no problems with you playing "the race card", which is what people do when they have no other options. But do not whine when KKKer's play THEIR race card either.

And what do you say to white people who are the descendants of whites who fought FOR black Emancipation? Who were hung for operating the Underground Railroad?

What do you say to the black slavers who captured your ancestors and sold them to plantation owners in the South?

You should probably remember there are ALWAYS two sides to every "card".

I cannot fathom how people can actually take this question seriously when you're an obvious white racist troll posing as a black stereotype. Go play in the Barney forum.

Everyone should be considered equal at birth and behavior sorts it out from there. Race should be irrelevant. No one should make it more than that.

I understand you write "play" the race card. Exactly why it is so exasperating. Too many hard working, honest upstanding black folk are being undermined by the manipulating "play" black folk.

Stop trashing your credibility.

Why even play the race card in the first place? Equality will never happen until that stops.

FYI: there were no slaves on the Mayflower, and African tribes sold their enemies into slavery to the white slave traders. Things are more complicated than they seem. I don't get agitated when you play the race card - I have better cards.
