Probably not.

You might be able to get in. You are probably qualified to get in. But the fact is that most qualified students do not get in.

If your GPA is unweighted, then you are about average for the students who get into top universities in the US. If it is a weighted GPA -- then you are quite a bit lower than the average, and I don't like your chances.

Your SAT scores are about 150-200 points lower than the typical successful candidate at top schools.

Stanford only accepts 10% of those who apply. My guess is that about 75% of those who apply have better grades and scores than you have. I assume that you can do the math.

This will be true for any top 10 university in the US. In order to get in, you have to REALLY stand out. Your activities won't do that for you (unless you are a world class athlete). In order to stand out, you need a great interview and a killer admissions essay. With those, you have a small chance. Without them -- you have absolutely no chance at the top ten.

The good news is that you will certainly get into some excellent unviversities. I would look at some of the better public universities, some universities rankes 20-40 (rather than 1-2), some of the better Liberal Arts colleges and some of the better regional universities. Definitely apply to a couple schools at the top.

Um... aren't you the Harvard guy too? Well again, Stanford is a big reach for you. Why not aim at lower Ivys, or non-Ivys... there still are really good schools. How do you get 11 answers, and I get none on my Cornell thread :*(

Be sure to review the application process and make sure that everything required has been included with your application. A simple question that must be asked.......have you applied?

If you are so smart, you should already have an idea of what your chances are of getting accepted at Stanford. Have you considered ITT Technical Institute ?
