I don't know about anyone else... But I was definatly born gay.
Even from a young age I was attracted to girrls! Although I never understtood why.
But the one thing that proves to me that it's not a choice to be gay is that when I actually realised that I was gay at around 13...
I tried to prey it out of my life, coming from a religious background and all... Up untill I was 15 I did this.
I was depressed, regularly self-injured etc. Untill I eventually came out to my friends at 15 then my life got better and all depression stopped.

OMG... I wonder if us LGBTers will ever be able to stop hearing this question - and answering it.
No, in my opinion, it is NOT a "choice"; as I've said in YA many times now, we cannot "choose" who and what we are any more than we can "choose" the color eyes or skin or hair with which we're born. We are BORN this way. Even if a woman or a man has been "hetero" for half their life, then "become" lesbian or gay, their true nature was there all along; it had merely been suppressed before.
Who on earth would consciously CHOOSE a lifestyle in which we're hated and villified and discriminated against (LEGALLY, in many states) and relegated to 2nd-class citizens and called vile names EVERY SINGLE DAY OF OUR LIVES??? And beaten up and even MURDERED just because of our lifestyles???

People are NOT born gay and neither is it a choice.
People are gay because of the influences in their life- for example, a boy who is living with his mum, been introduced to primarily feminine people and been surrounded by females all his life is MUCH MORE LIKELY to be gay than the boy who spends all the time with his father, playing sports and watching football.

Born. Born. Born. Why is it that this continues to be a damned question?
I'm gay. Always have been always will be.
Were you born straight? When did you choose to be straight? Did you "come out" as straight? How did your parents react?

We are born that way although some are able to successfully deny it for a while but they are usually miserable during that time.

For some it's a choice...For others it may not be.
Being gay is more than just having a sexual preference. Sexual preference is a choice...just having sex or not is a choice.
There are varied aspects to this "gay" issue. Some feel that they are one gender outside and another inside. That is not a choice.
Children have no sexual preference......Thay are influenced by their environment and the desire for acceptance in a community also has an influence. No one answer is for all situations.
