I just got a really cute, never worn hami-down dress, and I really want to wear it today to my parent's anniversary mass. But the only problem is, it has short sleeves and is an inch above my knee. My mom and dad love it, so I want to wear it on their anniversary. But it's 35 degrees here. How do I make it warmer? Any ideas? Thanks in advance! :) ♥

Oh, and our church is heated, so it will probably be about 55 degrees in there.

There's lots of things you could wear with your dress to stay warm!! First of all, you could try a cute cuddly sweater! Here's some examples :

Or you could wear a nice long sleeve t-shirt under neath the dress, so that you can still be warm and show off the dress better without a sweater over the top!! Here's some examples :

Also, you might want to wear leggings or leg warmers with your dress so that your legs won't get cold!! Here's some examples of leggings and leg warmers :

If you think it would look good, try wearing a pair of skinny jeans underneath. Or, you could try a thick pair of stockings underneath if you think it might look better. Then, layer a long sleeved tee underneath the dress for warmth. Add in some tall boots and a thick, warm coat and you'll be set. Good luck and tell your parents Happy Anniversary!

Tights are very in right now. Get a cute pair of lace ones or something to go with it. It will keep you warmer and look cute. For your arms, just find a cute cardigan or sweater that goes well. You can take it off when you are inside.

A shawl or a wrap that sits on your shoulders would be nice. You'll probably drive there and the car will be heated so the only time you'll have to be outside is when you go from your home to the car and the car to the church. Hope you have fun.

There are some really nice long sleeve tops available that can be worn underneath the dress...something in lace with a lining would be fine...

leggins underneath a dress can help solve the problem with your legs. also a cute denim jacket on top or some sort of lacy jacket that's small enough not to cover (http://www.nowtoronto.com/issues/2005-05-26/goods_thegoods-1.jpg)
like the two with the longer sleeves
there are plenty of ways to cover up while still wearing a cute dress.

You can wear skin tone tights, and wear a matching sweater that matches the color of the dress. If you get warm in the church, just simply take it off.

Easy.
Panty Hose or Tights or Leggins to make sure that your legs are warm.
A nice thick coat, preferibly long, such as a wool trench coat. You'll be fine.

a sweater! and some hose, but hose are kinda tacky maybe some black tights or dark blue tights or white depending on the color of the dress, but a heavy sweater should do the trick... if you wear high boots with it, that might work!

How much fat do you have on your arms? A thick layer of blubbe under your skin may be all the protection you need from the cold weather while wearing your favorite outfit. If you don't have a thick layer of blubber, get going to Wendys, Burger King or Kentucky Fried Chicken !
