The Steiner school in Brighton have banned Santa's red costume and replaced him with a more PC, green-suited St Nicholas. What next?...coloured snow...(you can't have white snow can you...it might offend non-whites)?
This PC rubbish is now definitely out of hand, what can we do about it?

I really don't know why they thought red was un-PC....but does there have to be logic behind these silly decisions??

What are Steiner schools well known for?...Strict discipline??I don't think so!

All of this PC rubbish has gone WAY over the top. Who really gives a damn about the color of Santa's suit?

What a waste of time and energy. I would like to see more focus on the true problems in the world.

It's not about wether his suit is PC or not, it is simply about someone changing something. It is a trend, being the person responsible for making something happen. Makes the idiot feel that they have done something productive and clever. They do it this way as they are simply too stupid and incompetent to do some decent work. Nothing clever about it. Still annoys the cr*p out of the rest of us though!!! It tends to happen when a new member of staff/management comes in.

yeah i can see what you mean

anyone who doesn't know why the red suit ain't PC: santa originally had a green suit but after coca cola adverts he wore a red suit.

i thought it was purple, but thats irrelevant.

it's terrible, because they're confusing all the kids who have seen the red suit suit, and they may start to consider the reality way before they should.

god, whatever happened to consistency?!

if it carries on getting out of hand, get a group of people who feel the same way and complain or campaing or w/e

Apparently his green coated replacement will be encouraging the children to crawl into a grotto and use their hammers to uncover crystals. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1928916/posts
But wait! Natural phenomenon or not, crystals are associated with crystal therapy, which is something distinctly pagan. Why is it better to think of crystal therapy than Coca Cola? Besides, isn't it better to steer nice clean living children in the direction of Coca Cola in a day and age when it is considered necessary to teach 5 year olds the evils of alcohol abuse? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/11/24/view24.xml
Once you start exercising political correctness, there is no knowing where you will end up.

i think that is less politically correct

the red father christmas came about from the Coca Cola advertising campagn in the 20's. and also the fat man. it represents Cola and American consumerism

The green St Nicholas is a much older and Christian representation, it came from Turkey which is where the presents in stockings came from.

it is stupid, but all these different places (meaning schools/stores/ect) can choose to change it or not display it at all.
