SPOILER WARNING (for anyone who hasn't seen it)
Okay, bought last box set and have just finished watching the last episode. So Tony is sat in the diner with his wife and son. They are waiting for their daughter. You notice people there who may be there to kill Tony. You hear the door open and Tony looks up.....then that's it! Then the credits! Is my dvd faulty? Is it jumping from this scene to the credits? Am I missing something or was that it? If so I feel cheated, I've watched six series of the Sopranos over the years and that was it?! I don't mind open endings where you have to make your own mind up but that was just wrong.....what do you think? Will there be any more?

That is the way it ended on HBO too, people were going crazy thinking their cables, etc. went out. It is supposed to be that way per the producer David Chase....

I agree. A really weak ending for what had at times degenerated into a really awful show, trading on past glories. If ever there was a candidate for "we really shouldn't have tried to stretch it out for another series", it was The Sopranos. A shame, because in its heyday it was a great show.

After the first season the show had a HUGE problem with every episode being Hit or Miss.

And a couple of seasons were all Miss.

They left it open to interpretation so in case they decided to come back in a couple years they could pick up where they left off.

in one episode they are discussing what it is like when you get whacked and one of them says that you dont even see it coming that everything just ends. So the final episode just leaves it up to your own imagination as to what happened. Nothing could have happened or he could have got whacked.
