I was driving and at a bus stop I see this girl from behind, she was in a tight shirt with her back showing and pants that had to be five sizes too small for her and a HUGE coach bag on her arm. She turned around and I saw a babyface. She couldn't be more than 13!

What mother would let a girl that age go out dressed like she was almost out of highschool/adult. I mean, maybe if she had been a little older I would have thought less of it. But she couldn't be more than 13.

I'm not that old, I know what prep is. But prep can easly be done with a holister shirt that FITS and some expensive jeans.

How is it morally wrong for a 13 yr old to have what little breasts she has hanging out of her shirt?

I mean not morally wrong.

She could have been 17, i've seen girls that age that look like they are nine. But have a little dignity here? Would any person with a sane bone in their body let a 17-year-old that looked nine walk around in a mini skirt and a tube top?

It was now, but dont even get me started on last summer. LITTLE girls, walking around in belly shirts. And shorts too short for even me to wear.

Summer has nothing to do with it!

Well yeah, TV has alot to do with it too. I can remember looking at a magazine and seeing thin girls and thinking "I have to look like that" so I starved myself till I was almost 90 pounds. Yet I was still fat, girls were 70-80 when I was 13.

I also remember getting made fun of because I didn't put on makeup when I was in the fourth grade. SICK SICK SICK!

It's different if she bought the purse, but she didn't even look old enough to work. I mean, once someone has a job that money is there and they can spend it as they wish. No harm in treating yourself with money you earned. But I HIGHLY doubt she bought that by herself.

That's an issue between her and her parents. Just because you wouldn't do it doesn't mean it's morally wrong.

That's sick society today.
My nine year old sister wants a juicy purse for her birthday. What 10 year old needs a juicy purse? I guess if that's the only thing she got for her birthday it would be a little less overdone, but honestly, I wanted a Harry Potter DVD at that age. I didn't even know what juicy was!

Let's just hope that when we become mothers we don't suddenly go mad and start buying everything in the world for our kids.

Actually, her mom probably saw her like that, and her mom probably dresses the same way and saw no problem with it.

Yeah, nothing like teaching children the value of a dollar early in life. Im betting she didnt save her money and work hard so that means her parents bought her for it. Shes just gonna be another teen who grows up thinking that money grows on trees and the world owes them everything. I cant afford a coach bag and I'm 25. Im pretty sure little teenage girls dont need them. I also love how these parents are letting their children walk out of the house dressed up like hookers..then they wonder why theyre sexually active by the time they're 13. Its called being a parent, they should really try it, but theyre too busy trying to be their kids friends instead.

The world is an awful place these days. I completely agree with you being disturbed by the image you saw. I'm 17 and I feel like a slut if I wear less than what covers me. I don't understand how you could feel comfortable being so exposed, especially at a young age when you're still growing and changing. The coach bag is pathetic. Kids that age should not have the money to spend on such things, nor should their parents allow such a kid to own one, because 13 year olds are careless and don't understand the value of money, and therefore won't treat the purse the way it should be and it'll be ruined. I bet her parents'll just buy her a new one.

It's pathetic.

I am with you I would never let my daughter leave my house looking like an easy target for some pervert to take advantage of or looking like a cheap hooker. No child boy or girl should be walking around looking like that. Boys should wear pants or shorts that don't show more then needs to be seen. A respectable shirt should be worn not showing off breasts or more chest then needs to be exposed. Call me old fashioned but a girl should look like a lady and a boy should dress like he was going to church even going to school.

Don't worry -- it makes me angry too.

I think it's sad when parents try to be their child's friend rather than a parent. They never seem to want to say no.

It may not be morally wrong (leave it to a guy to say so) but it certainly sends the wrong message.

Frankly, as a woman, I wish more women (young and old) would cover up a little more of their bodies. There is a lot to be said for leaving something to the imagination. Besides, it looks classier. I'd rather look classy than like a slut.

But, that's just me...

I don't know where you live but I see it all the time here. Go to any middle school. high school or mall and you'll see that. They are trying to grow up too fast!! I feel sorry for the boys! The girls are walking around half naked, teasing them but they aren't supposed to touch or say anything! A lot of mothers don't say anyting because they don't want to make the kid mad, they want them to be popular!! Some of them don't know what they go out like because they're to busy to pay attention, some of them don't know because the girl changes her clothes after she leaves home. It is a sad situation but a sign of changing times and attitudes. Man, you've made me feel like an old woman!!! lol

I know it a shame, but I think people think deep in the back of their minds, faster in bed, faster out of the house! It's a D**n shame they just can't be little girls any more. I believe also it has a lot to do with the movies now days, and how women are viewed on T.V. Just stop and listen to some boys every now and then!!! What trash comes out their mouths! Very disrespectful of women.

Every person is different. It doesn't sound like the girl was dressed lewdly or showing off body parts. 13 is an age where kids are trying to do 2 main things. (1). Find themselves and define to others who they are. (2). Fit in with their peers at school and with the friends they want to be with.
I see no problem with the clothes you described since there was nothing overly sexually suggestive or revealing. Tight shirts are not new. I remember tight sweaters stuffed by girls with toilet paper so Cadillac bumper bullets were obvious to the guys. As for the back showing, wow I'm hot and turned on by bare skinned backs, please hold me back.......

Yeah I'm pretty sick of seeing that, too. I'm in high school and almost nobody dresses like that. It was a big deal to do that in middle school, but now it seems that people have a bit more sense than their prepubescent selves.

There's still plenty of idiots, though =/.

Yes, sadly little girls are under the impression that dressing
"preppy" or "high fashion" is tight clothes and designer things. Honestly, nice fitting clothes look one hundred percent better. Their moms need to be the ones telling them that though. I know my mom did ha ha, one morning she told me to take these jeans off because I was going to get a yeast infection ha ha, I got the picture though and started dressing nicer.
